About the Original Vehicle:
The Volkswagen Type 2 made its debut in March 1950 and was based on the much-loved Volkswagen Beetle. It was powered by a rear-mounted, air-cooled 4-cylinder engine producing 44 hp. One of its most popular variants was the “Samba” microbus, offered in a distinctive 23-window version with a fabric sunroof. It could accommodate up to 9 adults and was notable for its flat floor and twin side doors. The Type 2 (T1) remained in production until 1967 and is still regarded as one of the world’s most iconic transporters today.
