History:
The Lancia Stratos HF is widely regarded as one of the first rally cars designed purely for competition. Featuring a striking wedge shape by Bertone, a mid-mounted Ferrari V6 engine, and a very short wheelbase, it dominated the World Rally Championship in the mid-1970s, earning Lancia three consecutive manufacturers’ titles from 1974 to 1976.
At the 1977 Safari Rally, one of the toughest and most demanding events on the calendar, the Stratos faced extreme conditions such as heat, dust, and punishing long-distance stages in Kenya. Although primarily designed for twisty tarmac and mountain rallies, its participation in the Safari Rally further cemented its reputation as one of the most iconic and uncompromising rally cars of its era.
