History:
The VW Type 2 (T1), often nicknamed “Bulli,” was introduced in 1950 as Volkswagen’s second mass-produced model after the Beetle. Its distinctive split windshield gave it the well-known “Split Window” name. Technically, it was largely based on the Beetle, featuring a rear-mounted air-cooled boxer engine and a durable platform construction.

Available in numerous body styles – from panel van to Kombi and the luxurious Samba bus – the T1 became a global symbol of post-war economic growth, craftsmanship, travel, and later the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Produced until 1967, it remains one of the most iconic vans in automotive history.
