About the Original OA-4M Skyhawk II:
The OA-4M Skyhawk II was a two-seat special variant of the A-4 Skyhawk developed for the U.S. Marine Corps. Converted from TA-4F trainers, it was used as a fast forward air control aircraft for reconnaissance, close air support coordination and battlefield observation. The OA-4M combined the Skyhawk’s agility and rugged design with additional communications equipment and updated avionics. With only 23 aircraft converted, it remains one of the rarer Skyhawk variants.
