History:
The Mitsubishi J2M3 “Raiden” was a land-based interceptor developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Designed specifically for air defense, it entered service in 1944 and was primarily used to intercept U.S. B-29 bombers over the Japanese mainland. Unlike many other Japanese fighters, the Raiden emphasized climb rate and heavy armament rather than maneuverability.
